Mission Accomplished: The Trifecta Girls Complete Their National Parks Challenge — Fueled by Real Meals

The Trifecta Girls set out with an ambitious goal: to traverse three of New Zealand’s most iconic National Parks in one epic, self-powered mission. And they did it. Over rugged peaks, through remote valleys, across lakes and coastlines, these three young women completed their journey — an inspiring feat of endurance, courage, and sheer determination.
Their mission took them from the lakes of Nelson Lakes National Park, where they visited all the named lakes, to the high ridgelines of Kahurangi, and finally along the coast of Abel Tasman. The expedition spanned hundreds of kilometres, included nearly 9000 metres of climbing, and tested their navigation, resilience, and teamwork every step of the way. A third of the route was off-track, with the girls using maps, GPS, and compasses to find their way through some of the country’s most wild and untouched terrain.

Real Meals played a critical role in their success. With days stretching long and weather conditions often unpredictable, they relied on Real Meals as their primary source of food and energy. Lightweight, nourishing, and delicious, Real Meals gave the girls exactly what they needed to stay strong and keep moving — whether they were grinding up a peak, pushing through the final kilometres of a long hike, or paddling the bays of Abel Tasman.
The trio’s motivation went far beyond just adventure. They set out to prove what young women are capable of in the wilderness, to inspire others to get outside and explore boldly, and to deepen their connection with the wild places of Aotearoa. Along the way, they embraced the simplicity of life on the trail — walking, eating, sleeping — and came away with memories and learnings that will stay with them forever.
Backed by a Federated Mountain Clubs youth expedition scholarship and supported by generous sponsors — including Real Meals — the Trifecta Girls reminded us that with passion, preparation, and the right fuel, anything is possible.
